How do you really clear acne – war stories of past sufferers

For years I suffered from chronic confidence issues, afraid to meet new people, to live life fully.  In fact, my entire childhood revolved around my severe cystic acne.  And today, despite having clear skin, I still have the mental scars and every now and then the confidence issues will rear their ugly head.  When I finally did my research, came across this book, and addressed the root cause of acne my life changed hugely and I was set free from my gremlins…

But when I search online at all the information that people put out there to try and get a buck or two from their new skin care product, it really makes me cringe and very unhappy at all the people who are relying on the “latest scientific breakthrough” to get rid of their acne in their quest for clear skin.

In fact, it annoys me. Why?  Because I was one of those people. And these products simply don’t work.

That’s why I want to tell you now exactly the information you need to take steps to fighting your acne and exactly what I did to clear my cystic acne (that was probably worse than yours – it was a really serious condition).

You may never have read this before, but I guarantee you that this will be the most unbiased information about acne that you’ve read, and based upon years and years of research, trial and error from not only me, but my entire acne mastermind group!  So here’s what you need to know:

1. Applying lotions onto your spots may help acne, but won’t attack the root cause of acne.  Therefore it will keep coming back

Have you ever had it where you’d buy topical lotions from the local supermarket.  You’d notice good results after a few days, but your spots just kept on coming back?  There’s a good reason for this.

You see, your body is a very clever machine.  And there are certain substances that your body simply must remove – otherwise it would be harmful and may cause illness or further damage.  These substances are known as toxins.

If you’re lucky (and we all know the lucky people who have never had a spot in their life and think that acne is due to not washing correctly!) then your internal organs (liver and kidneys) are able to filter out toxins from your bloodstream. If so, you’ll have clear skin.

Those who suffer from acne (like I used to!) aren’t able to remove their toxins through their vital organs.  The toxins therefore must be excreted through the skin. Before they are excreted, however, they must be wrapped up in oil (or sebum).  It is this sebum that clogs pores, allows acne bacteria to grow and spread and ultimately causes spots!

So when you’re applying lotions to your spots, you’re not attacking the root cause of the problem – you’re attacking it towards the end of the process!

Wouldn’t it be much better to prevent acne at the beginning of the process?  Yes, that’s what I thought a few years ago, too!

2. Anti-biotics such as Oxy-Tetracycline are hugely ineffective!

I’ve been researching acne fora  long time now and in that time I ‘ve started to build a bit of an online community. The great thing about this is that I can send out surveys and try to understand what works and doesn’t work for lots of people, rather than just me!

I recently sent out a survey about anti-biotics and acne.  More specifically, I wanted to find out how people had been getting on with this kind of treatment.

The response?

Over 150 people had taken this type of anti-biotic to improve their acne yet only 5 reported “significant improvement”.  Over 100 reported “no improvement whatsoever” with 22 saying that their condition got worse!

The reason is that, yet again, anti-biotics don’t attack the root cause of acne – they do nothing to reduce the toxins in the body or improve the body’s ability to filter out said toxins.

In fact, Tetracycline (an acne-fighting anti-biotic) is said to damage internal intestinal flora!  This means that it kills good bacteria along with bad bacteria! Ironically, having a strong and healthy intestinal flora is one of the things that keeps your toxin levels at a good level!

The bottom line is this – stay away from anti-biotics.

3. DIET DOES PLAY A ROLE!

A lot of people (even dermatologists!) will tell you that diet is not related to acne.  Unfortunately, this is simply not true.

Acne is related to Toxins. Guess what the number one source of Toxins is?  Yep, you guessed it: Food!  Food you’re illergic to, food your body finds difficult to digest, food that is not cooked properly, food that hasn’t been treated correctly, food that contains chemical substances….You get the picture!

The interesting thing is that the relation between food and acne is very subjective!  So, one person may break out in spots when they eat chocolate while someone else may experience the same from eating red meat.  There are long and drawn out scientific reasons for this….

But I won’t go into them in detail.  I’ll just say that if someone has a “Candida” condition (yeast infection that causes lots of toxins and therefore acne problems and feeds off sugar intake) then it’s likely eating chocolate will negatively affect their acne.

However, if someone has a weak digestive system, then it’s likely that they’ll suffer problems with their skin by eating foods that are hard for the body to break down – like red meat.

In general, it is advisable to avoid high processed foods, high sugary foods and red meat.  On top of this, you should try to avoid drinking fizzy drinks, alcohol and anything that contains chemicals or pesticides (if you’re eating vegetables).  For me, it was a case of trial and error.  I used the test outlined in acne no more to figure out what foods were causing me problems. Interestingly, I took one food out (oatmeal can you believe!) and it made a massive difference to my skin within a week.

The important thing to realise is that food does play a part in acne.  Therefore, pay attention to your diet and how your skin reacts.

4. HORMONES NEED TO BE BALANCED

One of the reasons I suffered from such bad acne was due to a hormonal imbalance.  But don’t worry because you can actually naturally balance your hormones.

The first thing you should be doing is supplementing with Essential Fatty Acids.  Udo’s oil is generally regarded as being the best EFA on the market so I recommend that you pick up a bottle from your local store or online.

Science lesson: EFA’s are so good because your body uses them to create prostaglandins.  Prostaglandins perform many functions in your body but one of the main functions is to regulate the levels of hormones.  The great thing about EFA’s are that they have some wonderful side effects – your hair will become silkier and if you have dry skin, you’ll feel much better moisturised.  Doctors even say that they help with memory – but who trusts a doctor, eh!

5. ACNE CAN BE CURED NATURALLY

It’s just a case of finding out exactly what the root cause of the problem is.  The reason it’s so difficult to pinpoint is because there are so many possibilities. For instance, you could be getting acne because of:-

1. Candida infection

2. Leaky gut

3. Food allergy

4. Unbalanced hormones

5. Poor liver function

6. Poor digestive capabilities

7. Parasites

… not to mention the loads of environmental factors such as air pollution, chemicals in the water, allergies to certain types of fabric in your clothes and even mercury tooth fillings!!

I know it seems overwhelming but really you don’t need to worry.  If I am to advise you of the best way to overcome your acne then I’d suggest this:-

Rather than covering up acne with skin care products that don’t work, identify the root cause of your problems by following a logical system.  Once you start applying logical reason and understanding how and why acne is really caused, you are well on your way to clear skin.  And if I, the person with huge ugly cysts all over her body only a few years ago, can do it – then you can too.  If you don’t know what system to follow, then the book that taught me everything I know is here.  You’ll have to ignore the sales pitch – behind the hype, there really is amazingly useful substance.

Water and Acne – Can Water Really Clear Acne?

Whenever I write about water and acne, I’m always reminded of my friend and I when we were in high school.  I had suffered from severe acne at the youngest of ages, but at around the age of 16 she (Jane her name was) started to get a few spots here and there.  At the start, it was very mild, but as the weeks went by it got worse and worse until after 6 months time her face looked really quite bad.

It was also around the time when she started to drink alcohol (illegally!) so go figure!  Whenever I drink alcohol I break out in spots, although my dermatologist continually assured me there is no link between acne and diet (I now know she was wrong).

Jane started to lose her self confidence a lot – it was hugely noticeable because previously she was always a very outgoing person.   It just goes to show what kind of effect alcohol can have on your body….

Anyway, to cut a long story short, she actually managed to clear her acne (and by this stage it was more than mild) within a matter of a month simply but following one of the simplest techinques from this book

And what did she do?

She drank water!  A pint every day immediately on waking (filtered to reduce chemical toxins), a pint at lunch and a pint in the evening…

But why does this work?

I questioned her at the time about it – I just simply didn’t believe it worked.  I only reall understood the reason behind the madness when doing my research to cure my own acne more than 10 years later!

The reason it works is fairly simple: Acne is caused by toxins being excreted through the skin, clogging up the pores and allowing acne bacteria to grow.  By drinking water, it helps your body flush out the harmful toxins that otherwise would be exreted through the skin.

It really is as simple as that.  I urge anybody with acne to give it a go and see what results you get from it.  Because my acne was so severe, drinking water alone was not enough on its own for me (I had to use some other more powerful internal cleansing and hormone balancing techniques from this book) but it even helped my extremely bad cystic acne.
